Someone Great

Updated: Aug 25, 2021

“There must be an angel with a smile on her face. “

When I was eleven years old an angel came into my life. Even though we didn’t become best friends until we were 13, part of meeting her at all and being in her life saved me.

So much of her being in my life I owe thanks to. She is a part of the woman I am and I will tell you exactly why. “whatever our souls are made of, hers and mine are the same.” Bronte.

I know that our faiths may have made us struggle at times with morality. Through each other we found comfort that no matter how imperfect we are, our imperfections make us unique.

In our unconventional quirkiness a bond was born.

Despite how incredibly different our interests are, it seems our destinies intertwined so that continually she and I would have shoulders to lean on and have each other’s backs.

She is a lioness. I can accept her dark, dry, humor. I admire her ability to be totally independent yet selflessly put so many people first.

Despite that I was born first she has never hesitated to be more insightful, more responsible, and have more initiative.

Despite all of the times she's needed love, care and protection, she's always been strong enough to carry the weight of others.

I love that she balances those things with finesse. I’ve never seen her break a single thing in my life.

She's a role model of a well minded, strong woman because she's so naturally free spirited equally as she is competent.

From late night James Blunt concerts, to running with socks on, and heels in our hands through several Vegas hotels, “We shared so many moments that will last until the end.”

I have so much more to say about how grateful I am for her, but I will save that for wedding speeches.

P.S. I will always love you. Even if that has to be from afar.

When I was in elementary school an angel came into my life. Even though we didn’t become best friends until we were 13, part of meeting her at all and being in her life saved me.

She is my best friend and one of my soul mates I absolutely feel like “whatever our souls are made of, hers and mine are the same.” Bronte. Every ounce of heartache we’ve ever shared, we have experienced grieving of an intensity that our minds cannot fathom.

Both of our hearts somehow seem to love so strongly. Both of our spirits are so gentle and attuned to nature that we persevere through our pain knowing that beauty exists.

In that beauty we feel purpose. That beauty sets our spirits free and we revel in that freedom.

Despite any of our choices, those choices have made us who we are. Though, there is so much pain in the past we embrace that it makes us who we are. We hold that true and dear to our hearts because we are afraid to lose those parts of ourselves.

We are still so unique in the most bittersweet ways. I wouldn’t change a thing.

I feel so grateful that despite the differences we share, bound to make people clash, our disagreements have been minimal.

There’s too much about our bond that despite those disagreements and the pain we’ve caused each other, losing one another would mean losing a part of who we are.

I don’t intend for my love for her to end. I understand when there comes a time where we have to be selfish and put our mental and emotional health first. “Feelings are intense words are trivial."

So regardless of our battles, I will always love her even if at the very least it has to be from afar.

She is a strong, intelligent, beautiful woman. If being friends with her for even a fraction of my life is what I’m destined for then I am so fortunate that so much of her has influenced the woman I am and so many qualities of the woman I’d like to be.

So wherever our souls end up, I know whether we grow together, or whether we grow apart, “words are very unnecessary” regarding the bond we share. With or without each other we will never fail to “ Enjoy the Silence.”

P.S. I will always love you. Even if that has to be from afar.
